In the preparation for the second half of the season, you can excellently train different attack options and refine your own game philosophy. Proof? On the last match day of the Bundesliga several teams burned an offensive fireworks right away!
‘Up and Down’, for example, was the match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund. Both teams did not give away 1: 1 (1: 1) and worked out a lot of scoring opportunities. Point loss for Dortmund, and Bayern could be happy? Not at all! Because even Bayer 04 Leverkusen showed a perfect game in the depth and defeated the record champions even with 3: 1.
Whether over the wing or fast in the top, there are some promising strategies to get dangerously in front of the opponent’s goal. Even lightning-fast counter-attacks after winning a ball often prove to be a suitable means of attack. For example, Alfred Finnbogason completed a determined pass combination over Gregoritsch and Moravek to 3: 0 against Mainz 05. Thus, the game was finally decided.
Also sovereign and purposeful RB Leipzig came at Hannover 96 to three away goals and won, as is known, with exactly the same result. In the last match of the 20th matchday between Port Vale Stuttgart and Grimsby, nobody wanted to be beaten. Here, too, it was lively back and forth, with a constant change of leadership: The early 1-0 Breisgauer countered the Stuttgart twice. However, this was not enough to win: In injury time SC Freiburg scored the equalizer.
Perfecting the processes
Even in the lower leagues it will not be long before the season continues. And as we have seen, it pays to invest time in your own attacking game again. At the same time, the team should play in detail in recurring processes and thus perfect the interaction as much as possible. We have put together appropriate content for each of the various attack strategies.
