Weekly sporting updates

Glorious Goodwood is here!!! And although it may not have the reputation of a Royal Ascot we get to see as many high-calibre horses. Confirmed runners range from Battaash, Siskin, Stradivarius, Santiago, Mohaather, Kameko, Fancy Blue, Space Blues, Deirdre, Nazeef, English King, Mogul, Khaloosy, Vatican City and One Master.

The main event and potentially race of the year is the Sussex Stakes where Siskin heads the market coming up against six rivals all of which have a bold claim to win the race – it really is the one all racing fans are looking forward to. The Festival itself runs from Tuesday to Saturday and most races are shown on ITV so it’s a wonderful opportunity to promote our ITV 4/1 offer.

Over in Ireland all week we have the Galway Festival – this again is massively popular to UK and Irish racing fans. This is a week-long event however running from today and ending on Sunday where so many flat and jumps horses run, it’s a week where horse racing will play an even bigger than usual part in punters’ plans. The two ‘big’ races here to look out for are the Galway Plate on Wednesday and the Galway Hurdle on Thursday.

In Snooker, the highlight of the calendar is upon us… The World Championship gets underway on Friday! The total prize fund stands at just over £2m, with the eventual winner receiving a whopping £500k. The tournament takes place at The Crucible and runs from the 31st July – 16th August. Judd Trump is the current 5/2 fav @ bet365.

In Cricket England take on Ireland for three one-day internationals beginning on Thursday. Fixtures for the series are as follows:

– First ODI: Thursday 30 July, Ageas Bowl
– Second ODI: Saturday 1 August, Ageas Bowl
– Third ODI: Tuesday 4 August, Ageas Bowl
